Sixteen World War I era buvards (blotter cards) used in elementary school to dry the fresh ink of a child's homework were also traded and collected at recess like marbles or baseball cards. These collectible cards have military cartoons, the advertising of a local epicerie in Brunoy, France, and are published by Chocolat du Planteur, makers of "Veritable healthy chocolate!"
